Posted on Wednesday, 31st August 2011 by Gruml in Blog
Gruml 1.1 is released:
Important: Gruml 1.1 (and above) requires at least Mac OS 10.6! Still working with Leopard (10.5)? Use Gruml 1.0.1 instead!
Changelog:
- New: support of new Lion features (fullscreen, sidebar, resume)
- Fixes sync issues with Google Reader
- Fixes problems switching between 3-column- and bottom-preview-style
- Fixes some problems with internal browser
- further bug fixes
Download: Gruml 1.1
Please fix the RAM consumption! Whenever I open an article’s website, my Ram vanishes!
Please also fix the responsiveness. If I mark all as read, update the UI, then make the google sync, so I get instant feedback.
The space bar sometimes does not go to the next unread. Sometimes it scrolls back to the top of the existing message, particularly noticeable when the message is bigger than the view area.
Can you please disable “Resume” under Lion? Lion keeps quitting Gruml when it’s in the background, and then it stops updating and the badge disappears. I’m not sure why that was implemented in the first place – what’s the point of something that updates in the background if it won’t stay running in the background? I’m glad Mail doesn’t do that!
Another little thing: cmd+l should select the url in browser.

Since the 1.0.1 update, I’ve noticed that the preview pane sometimes scrolls up instead of down when hitting the space bar.
Hi, nice app, using it with pleasure!
Was wondering if you’re planning on adding other languages. I could translate the app into Russian if you’d like, I’m pretty sure there are many Russian users who would like such a reader.
hi guys, great job. unfortunately on my macbook pro with lion I can’t post to twitter, even if it’s ok with other social as facebook or tumblr I tried. there’s no difference in trying to tweet via shift-T and via menu, and it doesn’t make difference if I write or not my twitter nick in preference. that said, if I go to twitter in the gruml’s browser I am logged in. error message is “you are not on line”.
I am writing a review for my blog, it’s a wonderful app.
+1 I can’t connect to twitter…
Will you be updating Gruml to conform with the new Google Reader social functions, i.e. Google+ vs. Share/Like
v1.1 and 1.0.1, if possible.
Thanks in advance.
Please, look share with Facebook… the application crashed.
Thanks
Hi,
I can’t tweet ? please fix that
Hi,
First of all, thank you for a great application.
I am still getting to grips with it, but everything looks very promising.
One little gripe is that according to gfxCardStatus, Gruml is causing the more powerful graphics card in my Macbook Pro to be used. Any chance this could be resolved?
Many thanks!
Hi. Could you please upgrade the Growl framework in Gruml? Growl Version Detective shows Gruml using 1.2 – that version won’t work with the new app store version (it needs anything greater than 1.2). http://growl.info/documentation/faq-new.php#1.3noapps shows Growl’s FAQ on the subject. Thanks.
I love Gruml – I think it is hands down the best RSS reader on the market. I think it would be even better if the built in browser was utilised more and given more features, such as adding bookmarks, syncing preferences etc.
It would alleviate the need for using both Gruml and a web browser. Ideally, my preferred option, would be a Gruml / Chrome hybrid, is this possible?
Hi, really enjoying Gruml, has become my permanent newsreader. Just two things column widths don’t stay the same on quitting and restarting and growl notifications aren’t happening for me. Otherwise the best newsreader around at the moment in my opinion.
Just downloaded on a new iMac and love it. Same problem here as silvio though, can’t post to twitter! With this fix, I’ll be hooked.
Is Gruml still available for PowerPC-10.5?
I would like to get my hands on it, and it does not seem I can, on this site…

Thank you very much for this app. Love the integration to Read It Later, Evernote etc.
Since using this app I’ve slowly been moving back to rss feeds and dropping twitter where possible.
My only regret is that you don’t have a donate button because I’d hate for this app to disappear.
Thanks again and take care.
Love the app, but can not share on twitter. I keep getting a “Twitter connection failed” message. In the preferences menu, under twitter, in the account field, what needs to be entered besides my handle? Shouldn’t I be prompted for my password at some point?
Thanks, and again, I love the app.
Just started using Gruml and really like it.
I would like it if the font size of the article pane could be made larger or adjustable like you did for the preview pane.
TIA
I experience a problem where if I press command-W to the modal boxes that pop up after submitting to instafetch, the window becomes hidden somewhere and I cannot interact with gruml any longer. Have to force close, and lose any webpages that are open (seems the session is saved only on exit, not when the pages are opened).
